About Dr. Khubchandani
Dr. Khubchandani

Bio

Dr. Zubin Khubchandani is the cofounder of the Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and one of the few orthopedic surgeons in the area who is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Sports Medicine Specialist.  This dual board certification requires a higher level of training, expertise, commitment and testing.  His expertise is in sports medicine, arthroscopy and the operative and non-operative management of musculoskeletal (orthopedic) injuries and conditions.

Dr. Khubchandani is dedicated to a high standard of patient care. He understands the complexities of sports related injuries and strives to return the athlete to the field of play when it is safe to do so.  His approach stems from his experience in treating athletes at all levels.  During his residency, he spent four years working side by side with the physicians who treat the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs.  During his Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy fellowship in Orlando, he continued working with athletes at all levels, including the Kansas City Royals during spring training.

Dr. Khubchandani graduated with honors from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1996.  He was also selected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, an honor bestowed to the top 10% of medical students nationwide.  He did his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.  This was followed by a Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy fellowship in Orlando, Florida, with an emphasis on complex shoulder and knee disorders.

Dr. Khubchandani’s practice involves general orthopedic surgery as well arthroscopy, sports medicine, knee and shoulder injuries, cartilage restoration, fracture care, joint replacement, endoscopic carpal tunnel release and the nonsurgical management of orthopedic injuries in adults and children. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Tarrant County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association, and has served on the Sports Medicine Committee for the Tarrant County Medical Society.

In addition to his commitment to medicine, Dr. Khubchandani enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
