Dr. Thomas received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in 1978 and his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 1982. He completed his training at the Fort Worth Osteopathic Hospital in 1983. He is board certified in Family Practice by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice. Dr. Thomas began his medical practice in Burleson, Texas and has continuously served the community for over 33 years. He recently joined Huguley Medical Associates and is working at Wilshire Family Medicine in Burleson.
Dr. Thomas has dedicated his career to meeting the medical needs of the citizens of Burleson and the surrounding area of Johnson County. He has been a great supporter of the many athletic programs in Burleson and served as the team physician for the Burleson Elks football team for 25 years.
Dr. Thomas became board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine in 2011. Since that time, he has served as Medical Director of Accolade Hospice. He finds hospice work rewarding and finds satisfaction in making sure that the patient’s needs are met and that they are comfortable throughout the end stages of life.
Dr. Thomas is a member, in good standing, of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice and the Johnson County Medical Society. He is on staff at Huguley Memorial Hospital, Plaza Hospital in Fort Worth and Walls Regional Medical Center in Cleburne. He is particularly proud of his role as a Clinical Associate Professor with the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He takes pleasure in supervising the clinical training of medical students, interns and residents in his office. For many students, it is their first chance to get out of the classroom and experience medicine first hand. He enjoys meeting the new students and passing on his practical knowledge.
Dr. Thomas was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He resides in Crowley with his wife. They have two adult children who proudly graduated from Texas A&M University. They have two grandsons and spend as much free time as possible with them. Dr. Thomas is an avid sportsman and also enjoys traveling with his family.
Dr. Thomas receives satisfaction in taking care of all of his patients, young and old. He appreciates the trust that these patients have put in him and endeavors to make decisions about their medical care with the patient’s best interest at heart.
