Wassim Ballany, MD is a specialist in cardiac electrophysiology at Consultants in Cardiology & Electrophysiology. He can be found in the Oak Lawn, Palos Heights Illinois offices. He welcomes patients who need treatment for heart arrhythmias and also offers comprehensive services for those in the community facing any cardiovascular condition.

Dr. Ballany received his Medical Doctor degree from the University of Aleppo, School of Medicine, in Aleppo, Syria, then completed a residency in clinical pharmacology at the University of Aleppo – Aleppo University Hospital. He finished residency training in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, during which time he served as the Chief Resident in the Internal Medicine Department of the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center.

Dr. Ballany completed a cardiology fellowship at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. From there he relocated to Milwaukee, where he completed an electrophysiology fellowship and an advanced electrophysiology fellowship at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. He served as Chief Fellow during his advanced electrophysiology training.

He has received several honors and awards, including being ranked in the top 1% of his class at the University of Aleppo Medical School and Resident/Fellow of the Month at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. When he’s not seeing patients, conducting cardiovascular research, or presenting scientific research at professional meetings, Dr. Ballany spends time watching sports, exploring the restaurants in the Chicago area, and traveling to new destinations.
