Vivian L. Lugo-Eschenwald, MD, owner and partner in Family Medicine Associates of Alexandria, located in Alexandria, Virginia, graduated from the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico in 1990. After she completed her residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in 1993, Dr. Lugo-Eschenwald became board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. An advocate of natural family planning, she trained in the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System in 2005 under Dr. Thomas Hilgers. She has lectured first-year medical students on the topic at Georgetown University School of Medicine and has mentored medical students interested in NFP through her practice. Interested in health promotion and disease prevention, Dr Lugo-Eschenwald is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine from the University of South Florida and is a member of the American Academy of Antiaging Medicine. Establishing Family Medicine Associates of Alexandria with Dr. Mircea in 2001, Dr. Lugo-Eschenwald alternates with her partner as company president.
