I try to make my practice of medicine part of my spirituality. I consider the relationships I develop with my patients and the trust they give me as something sacred. Patients are more than a series of diagnosed illnesses, and should be treated as whole human beings and they should be listened to. A good patient relationship is a partnership where the physician meets the patient where they are, half way, and through the art of medicine impacts comfort and guidance without being paternalistic.
