Bio
Dr. Thomas D'Amico graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1987 before completing a residency in Thoracic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC from 1987 to 1996. He then completed a fellowship in Thoracic Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Cen in 1996.
Dr. D'Amico has one office in North Carolina where he specializes in Thoracic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Thoracic Surgery
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called. Their focus is usually on the lungs, esophagus, and other areas of the chest, and may also include the heart. As such, Dr. D'Amico may see patients in North Carolina for a wide range of surgeries, for example removing cancer causing tumors from the esophagus and chest wall, or even a lung transplant.

Cardiothoracic surgery is a highly specialized field of medicine that incorporates surgical procedures to treat diseases or trauma to the organs and structures of the chest – including the heart, lungs and esophagus. Dr. D'Amico may perform both minimally invasive or invasive procedures ranging from angioplasty to open heart surgery or transplant surgeries.
