Dr. Suzie Chang M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board-certified plastic surgeon who trained at many of this nation's best institutions. She began her medical education at the Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she was awarded her medical degree. This was followed by training at the #1 ranked plastic surgery training program (by the US News and World Report) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center - Dallas, TX. Dr. Chang further specialized in fellowship training in the field of Oculoplastic & Aesthetic Surgery with Paces Plastic Surgery/Emory University in Atlanta, GA and obtained a second fellowship training through the AO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesegrafen) Foundation - Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. To finish out her specialty training, Dr. Chang devoted time as a visiting fellow in Seoul, South Korea's renowned Gangnam district at the Samsung Plastic Surgery Kangnam Clinic. After training, Dr. Chang was appointed as the first female faculty member at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Plastic Surgery. After several years in practice, she was granted fellowship in the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S). In a short time, she was promoted to the position of Section Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Hospital. Currently, Dr. Chang heads Katy Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Katy, TX.
Plastic surgeons perform a wide variety of surgeries that can restore or correct the form and function of the human body, which can be either cosmetic or reconstructive in nature. Dr. Chang is able to correct abnormalities of the body that may be causing adverse health effects, or perform surgeries to correct malformations caused by birth defects, trauma, tumors or disease. She also performs elective surgeries, which patients undergo to improve the aesthetic appearance of a certain body part.
