Dr. Subarna Dharia, FAAP, is a board certified pediatric physician who began with our Herndon office January 2014. Dr. Dharia completed her residency in 2004 at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA and medical school in 2001 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College in NY.

More recently, she is a 2011 graduate of Virginia’s Partners in Policymaking, an advocacy and leadership training for people with disabilities.

She strives to improve the lives of children with disabilities and their families by providing resources, strategies, and collaboration with all providers (both medical and non-medical). She is passionate about serving children with behavioral challenges, developmental concerns, and special health care needs. She is excited to work jointly with the primary pediatricians at Capital Area Pediatrics to allow an improved Medical Home Model for these children.

Dr. Dharia’s main interest in serving children with disabilities was inspired by her son, who has global developmental delays, and the importance of making sure professionals listen to parents.
