Steven A. Fassler, MD, is board certified in both colon and rectal surgery and in general surgery, fellowship trained in colon and rectal surgery,
After graduating from Temple University School of Medicine and the General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Fassler completed a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)/Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine at its main campus in New Brunswick, NJ. This fellowship included both the traditional approaches and laparoendoscopic (minimally invasive) treatment of colon and rectal disorders. He and his partners are  on the forefront of Minimally invasive treatment for colon and rectal cancer, as well as inflammatory bowel disease  This includes laparoscopic as well as advanced endoscopic techniques  in the treatment of colonic tumors

Dr. Fassler is currently the chief of colon and rectal surgery at Abington Memorial Hospital.
