My approach to medicine involves developing a trusting relationship with my patients, hopefully a longstanding one in which we partner to promote overall wellness, not simply react to illness. This involves spending time with my patients, being accessible and an advocate in their health care. It also depends on patient interest in participating in his or her plan for wellness, not simply being a passive recipient of health care.
