Dr. Sharmili Mathur is a Sleep Physician at Bluepoint Medical Associates and treats adult and pediatric patients with sleep disorders. She treats conditions such as sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, hypersomnia, narcolepsy and nightmares among others. Her passion is patient education and empowering the patients with the knowledge to take control of their diagnosis, and more importantly, their treatment.Dr. Mathur graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Physiology and Neurobiology and earned her medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She then went to Nassau University Medical Center in New York for Internship and Internal Medicine residency. Her pulmonology fellowship was completed at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City and then she went on for sleep medicine fellowship at University of New Mexico Sleep Disorders Center.Dr. Mathur is a board-certified sleep physician and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Virginia Society of Sleep Medicine, American College of Chest Physicians and American Thoracic Society.

Dr. Mathur utilizes a variety of diagnostic tools including screening devices, overnight sleep studies or oximeters, among many others. Treatments can include CPAP therapy, implantation of sleep devices, counseling, lifestyle modifications, and others aimed at eliminating or alleviating the symptoms of sleep conditions.
