Here is a straight forward video discuss the clinical problems associated with Pelvic Organ Prolapse.
A bladder neck sling is an effective method for the treatment of recalcitrant or severe stress urinary incontinence. With this method it is possible to perform the surgery as an outpatient and not leave a Foley catheter in similar to what can be done with mid-urethral slings. Our success rate for control of stress incontinence is greater than 86 percent now with a range of follow-up from 6 to 11 years.
WE describe our operative technique for the repair of a Stage 3 Rectocele with digitation with the use of a human dermal cadaveric biological material. We have since amended the technique with concomitant bilateral sacrospinous fixation with 0 Prolene suture.
The use of absorbable and non-absorbable tacks can now be safely utilized fix Prolene mesh to the anterior and posterior vaginal walls. Both meshes can then be fixed to the sacral anterior longitudinal ligament with non-absorbable tacks. All together I have had no vault failures with a minimum of three years follow-up. This is as close as we can get with an open procedure to the potential expediency of the Laparoscopic approach. This approach is both time saving for the patient and surgeon and 82 percent of patients are 23 hour stays. Any questions please email me at [email protected].
