Dr. Scott Johnson graduated from Duke University School of Medicine before completing a residency in General Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surg at Duke University Medical Center.
Dr. Johnson has one office in South Carolina where he specializes in Thoracic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Johnson works with two doctors including Dr. Barry Davis and Dr. Christopher Wright.

Thoracic Surgery
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called. Their focus is usually on the lungs, esophagus, and other areas of the chest, and may also include the heart. As such, Dr. Johnson may see patients in South Carolina for a wide range of surgeries, for example removing cancer causing tumors from the esophagus and chest wall, or even a lung transplant.

Cardiothoracic surgery is a highly specialized field of medicine that incorporates surgical procedures to treat diseases or trauma to the organs and structures of the chest – including the heart, lungs and esophagus. Dr. Johnson may perform both minimally invasive or invasive procedures ranging from angioplasty to open heart surgery or transplant surgeries.
