He has published several peer-reviewed articles in reputable medical journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, the Journal of Psychosomatics, and the Journal of Annals of Global Health (formerly known as the Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine). Dr. Almanzar is the founder and CEO of Compassion Mental Health Services of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Almanzar completed his residency training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Arnhold Institute in New York, where he earned degrees in psychiatry and Global Mental Health. Following a one-year training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Psychoanalytic Institute, New York University, Dr. Almanzar relocated to Missouri to begin one-year fellowship training in forensic psychiatry at the Missouri University School of Medicine. He completed his medical training and graduated magna cum laude from the Universidad Autonomy of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 2003.
