Dr. S. Samuel Gelbart graduated from Howard University College of Medicine, completing a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1978. Dr. Gelbart completed a residency in Ophthalmology at University of California San Francisco from 1979 to 1982. Dr. Gelbart is licensed to practice medicine in the state of California. Dr. Gelbart is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Gelbart is prepared to diagnose and treat disorders such as cataract, glaucoma, eye infections, iritis, uveitis, vitreous detachment, macular degeneration, retinal tears, and diabetic retinopathy.  In addition Dr. Gelbart has over 30 years experience doing cataract surgery, lens implant surgery, and laser eye surgery.
