Dr. Carter received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year of training. Her special interests include preventive health, cardiovascular risk reduction, nutrition and diet.
