Dr. Gower, a native of Greenville, S.C., has been with Greenville Ob/Gyn Associates for 20 years. He received his undergraduate education at Emory University and obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1977. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida and then returned to the Medical University of South Carolina where he completed his residency training in Ob/Gyn in 1982. After residency Dr. Gower moved back to Greenville and joined Greenville Ob/Gyn Associates. He is Board Certified in Ob/Gyn and participates in voluntary annual recertification. Dr. Gower has served as president of the Greenville Memorial Hospital Medical Staff and has been a board member of both the American Red Cross and the United Way Campaign. He volunteers his time at the Greenville free medical clinic, is an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he is a former elder, and is a member of the Rotary Club and the Greenville County Medical Society. In 1996 Dr. Gower was honored as one of the "Best Doctors in America." He is married to Ellen Jennings Gower and is the proud father of four children.
