About Dr. Auerbach
Dr. Auerbach

Bio

"I was drawn to medicine by my desire to treat disease and ease suffering. As a kid, I have always liked to help out my neighbors by shoveling snow for them or walking their dogs. I also really like talking with my patients and getting to know them. Vision is a very precious sense and it is almost always the one thing people would not like to lose. The knowledge that I have helped a patient see or feel better, when a patient smiles and is grateful for the care received, and the internal satisfaction in knowing I have done a good job in helping someone achieve their best possible vision is extremely gratifying to me."

Dr. Robert Auerbach graduated from Vassar College with a degree in Biochemistry in 1983. He received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate in 1987 where he also finished his residency in 1992. Previously, he completed his medical training at Beth Israel Medical Center in 1989.

Dr. Auerbach is board-certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has been with Rye Eye Associates for 15 years. He is also an active member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
