Dr. Alvarado earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed three years of intensive surgical training before entering and completing his Anesthesiology residency at UTHSC at San Antonio.He has also completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at UTHSC at San Antonio where he also earned additional advanced track training.Dr. Alvarado is bilingual in English and Spanish and can easily transition between English and Spanish-only speaking patients ensuring the patients know their pain experience is well understood.Dr. Alvarado specializes in the latest advanced interventional pain management techniques for chronic pain to include traditional fluoroscopic approaches, extensive training in advanced Ultrasound Guided interventional techniques, spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulator placement, as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques for spinal canal stenosis.He currently has extensive interest and experience in treating Complex Regional Pain Syndromes (RSD) through multiple approaches to include infusion therapies. In his spare time, Dr. Alvarado enjoys spending time with his family, sports, and playing guitar.
