I practice in several locations in northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. I practice as a retina specialist, but am associated with several multi-specialty ophthalmic groups. In this way, we are better able to provide seamless comprehensive care....under one roof.
I take care of patients with diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes, etc. Yes, I give intraocular injections, too.
I've been in practice for over 20 years and have established roots in the Washington, D.C. area, having been raised here.
I have a website dedicated to retina diseases. Understanding retinal diseases is not intuitive and I use the website to educate my present patients and their primary care doctors. The website has also allowed me to reach out to thousands (it has become a very popular site) since I started the site several years ago. I have another site for patients bothered by floaters.
Lastly, the Internet is changing medicine. Patients now expect to find out more about their health issues AND their doctor before making their first appointment. Patients are demanding we (doctors) provide information and conduct ourselves transparently on the Internet.
By the way, I love to play competitive tennis, can't stand golf, prefer Dunkin' Donuts coffee and not Starbucks. Amy and I have a blended family and have 5 children...and one labrador. We are heavily involved in our kids' activities and are huge supporters (actually we manage the teams) of youth ice hockey.
