Dr. Nitza I. Alvarez is the oldest of 10 siblings which has made her very determined and has helped to build up her personality and charisma.
She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico where she completed her medical school with honors, becoming a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society- Gamma Chapter, a professional medical organization, that recognizes and advocates for excellence in scholarship, and the highest ideals in the profession of medicine. She moved to Albany NY, where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular diseases, and subsequently moved to Florida where she has been providing care for her patients with her vast experience and knowledge in the management of cardiovascular disease. She is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), on Adult Echocardiography by the American Society of Echocardiography(ASE), and Nuclear Cardiology by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC). She is a Professional member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA-ASA), ASE, and ASNC.
