Dr. Neil Mushlin graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1996 with a BS in Biology. He earned his Masters in Business Administration in Health and Medical Services Administration from Saint Joesph's University in 1999. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. Dr. Mushlin completed his traditional rotating internship in the Crozer Keystone Health System and then continued on to complete his internal medicine residency at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood and Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia.Dr. Mushlin helped establish the Sleep Apnea Committee at Phoenixville Hospital with the goal of educating hospital staff on screening high risk patients and preventing inpatient complications related to obstructive sleep apnea. He has given numerous lectures to hospital staff and members of the community. Due to his love of learning Dr. Mushlin has been affiliated with Philadlephia College of Osteopathic Medicine and has taught 3rd and 4th year medical students during their Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine clerkships. He is also affiliated with many programs teaching Nurse Practitioner students.

Pulmonologists are specialized physicians who diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the respiratory tract. As a respiratory specialist, Dr. Mushlin may diagnose and treat pulmonary disorders such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema and bronchitis, among a host of others.
Sleep medicine specialists diagnose and treat various disorders and diseases relating to sleep. This can include a range of conditions including insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, nightmares and others. Dr. Mushlin utilizes a variety of diagnostic tools including screening devices, overnight sleep studies or oximeters, among many others. Treatments can include CPAP therapy, implantation of sleep devices, counseling, lifestyle modifications, and others aimed at eliminating or alleviating the symptoms of sleep conditions.
Critical care pulmonologists are trained in two closely-related areas of medicine: pulmonology & critical care. Dr. Mushlin treats patients suffering from life-threatening pulmonary disorders and diseases. These may include emphysema, pneumonia, lung cancer or COPD. As a critical care specialist, Dr. Mushlin is also trained to stabilize patients who are in critical condition and require mechanical ventilation.
Critical care specialists like Dr. Mushlin provide life-saving care for patients in critical condition. Patients are usually cared for in within intensive care units (ICUs), and may receive life and organ support. Dr. Mushlin may also work to stabilize patients and perform time-sensitive, potentially life-saving procedures.
