Pulmonology
Pulmonologists are specialized physicians who diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the respiratory tract. As a respiratory specialist, Dr. Ahmed may diagnose and treat pulmonary disorders such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema and bronchitis, among a host of others.

Sleep Medicine
Sleep medicine specialists diagnose and treat various disorders and diseases relating to sleep. This can include a range of conditions including insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, nightmares and others. Dr. Ahmed utilizes a variety of diagnostic tools including screening devices, overnight sleep studies or oximeters, among many others. Critical care pulmonologists are trained in two closely-related areas of medicine: pulmonology & critical care. Dr. Ahmed treats patients suffering from life-threatening pulmonary disorders and diseases. These may include emphysema, pneumonia, lung cancer or COPD. As a critical care specialist, Dr. Ahmed is also trained to stabilize patients who are in critical condition and require mechanical ventilation.
