Recognized for his humble demeanor, honesty and excellent technical skills, Dr. Batra has built a highly-prestigious and well-recognized cosmetic surgery practice in San Diego, California. He has gained a national reputation for his work in aesthetic facial surgery, cosmetic breast surgery, and body sculpting. He has been honored as a Black Diamond Account for Allergan based on his volume of breast augmentations. Dr. Batra is known internationally for his charitable work and giving back to those less fortunate.
Dr Batra has over 20 years of experience as a surgeon including 5 years in General Surgery including a year as chief trauma resident. He became certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1998. His extensive experience in managing traumatic injuries throughout the body and his fellowship training in craniofacial trauma had cemented his reputation as a highly skilled surgeon at Scripps Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Batra is one of approximately 15 surgeons nationwide who have advanced training in post-Gastric-Bypass Reconstructive surgery, known here as GBRX, a unique method employed by Dr. Batra that has achieved results that have satisfied hundreds of patients by contouring their bodies after massive weight loss.
Dr. Batra feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to help build one of the leading plastic surgery practices in the nation, Coastal Plastic Surgeons, which he founded in 2001. Since that time it has become recognized as one of the premier cosmetic surgery practices in Southern California with locations in San Diego, Del Mar, Temecula and Kearny Mesa, and North San Diego County. He is active in the community as a member of the American Society of Indian Plastic Surgeons (ASIPS). His practice continues to flourish from referrals of his patients as well as many doctors in the community.
His charitable organization DOCS donates surgical reconstruction and continuing care to people otherwise unable to obtain treatment for disfiguring medical conditions and severe injuries. Dr. Batra proudly served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves, and though DOCS surgeries are typically in Southern California, he routinely travels overseas to third world countries to do reconstructive surgeries outside of DOCS.
Plastic surgeons perform a wide variety of surgeries that can restore or correct the form and function of the human body, which can be either cosmetic or reconstructive in nature. Dr. Batra is able to correct abnormalities of the body that may be causing adverse health effects, or perform surgeries to correct malformations caused by birth defects, trauma, tumors or disease. He also performs elective surgeries, which patients undergo to improve the aesthetic appearance of a certain body part.
Specializing in the field of cosmetic surgery, Dr. Batra performs surgical and non-surgical procedures to improve or restore the aesthetics of a specific feature of body part. Cosmetic surgery may include rhinoplasty (or "nose jobs"), chin reshaping, face or necklifts, lipsuction or tummy tucks. A mainstay of cosmetic surgery, breast procedures such as breast augmentation, reduction, or lifts are among the most popular procedures performed by cosmetic surgeons.
