Michele Berkeley, MD, FACOG, is one of the compassionate, expert care providers at Capital Women’s Care in Arlington and McLean, Virginia. Dr. Berkeley was born in Toronto, Canada. She later moved to the District of Columbia to complete her undergraduate studies at Howard University and received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Berkeley finished her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. After completing her training, she accepted a position at the District of Columbia General Hospital, where she gained experience in high-risk obstetrics, obstetrical trauma, and gynecologic surgery. During that time, she refined her expertise in minimally invasive surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomy, uterine ablation, and operative hysteroscopy. She also has significant experience in the evaluation of infertility. Dr. Berkeley practiced OB/GYN in the DC Metro area until 2001. Then, she relocated to the United States Virgin Islands where she maintained a bustling private practice for eight years and was the Physician Representative on the Board of Directors of the Health and Hospitals Corporation of the U.S. Virgin Islands until 2008. Eventually, Dr. Berkeley returned to the DC Metro area, where she worked at numerous local hospitals in the District including the MedStar Washington Hospital Center as a Medical Director of their OB/GYN group practice.
