Bio
Dr. Michael Phillips was born and raised in Stamford, Texas – near Abilene. He graduated with honors from Texas Tech University in 1991 with his Bachelor of Science degree. He then graduated from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1995 and went on to the University of Texas HSC in San Antonio where he completed his internship in internal medicine in 1996 and his residency in anesthesiology in 1999. He served as Chief Resident during his last year of residency.
Following residency, Dr. Michael Phillips practiced anesthesia and pain medicine in Abilene, Texas for over 3 years before relocating his family and practice to the Dallas area. Dr. Phillips is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Michael Phillips served as Chief Resident at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. He then practiced in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine from 1999 until 2007 . Since 2007, he has been practicing Pain Medicine exclusively and serves as Medical Director and on Executive Commitiees of several Surgical Centers in the Metroplex. Dr. Michael Phillips was the first Pinnacle Pain Medicine physician in the Metroplex to perform the intradiscal BMAC procedure. In June, 2016 Dr. Phillips was the first physician in North Texas to implant the St. Jude Axium DRG Stimulator System.
