Michael Paul Gimness, MD, FAAFP is a board-certified family doctor. He offers multidisciplinary medical care to patients of all ages at Family Medical Specialists of Florida, PLC, in Plant City, Florida.

In addition to treating patients, Dr. Gimness is passionate about education. He helps patients to learn about their health and also holds several educator positions at local universities.

Dr. Gimness aims to help every patient have the best possible outcomes, providing attentive customized services ranging from wellness exams and chronic disease management to pain management and treatments for sleep disorders.

Before earning his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, Dr. Gimness completed his bachelor’s degree at Carroll College in Helena, Montana. He served his internship at the Medical College of Georgia Hospitals and Clinics in Augusta, Georgia and his residency at the Saint Vincent's Healthcare in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Gimness is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians.

Outside of work, Dr. Gimness enjoys spending time with his family and making the most of the beautiful Florida weather, by camping, hiking, water-skiing, and playing soccer and basketball.
