Dr. Melissa Acevedo is an experienced OB/GYN who personalizes her care to meet the needs of each individual patient. She is currently welcoming new patients at OB/GYN Specialists of South Miami in Miami.
Dr. Acevedo was born and raised in Miami. After earning her undergraduate degree at Florida International University and graduating Magna Cum Laude, she moved to New York City to study medicine. Dr. Acevedo completed her medical education and residency at New York University.During her residency, Dr. Acevedo was involved in research studies related to weight loss and bariatric surgery. She also served as Chief Resident during her final year of residency at NYU.
After spending eight years in New York City, Dr. Acevedo was excited to move back to her hometown, Miami. She now provides obstetric and gynecologic care to women throughout South Florida.
Dr. Acevedo is personally invested in the care of every patient. For pregnant women, she provides comprehensive care throughout the pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period. Her other areas of interest include contraception, gynecological surgery, patient education, and management of abnormal pap smears.
