Dr. Mark Greaves is double board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He is an expert in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy with a special concentration in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and has performed the greatest number of EUS procedures in the area. He is on staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerset.
His expertise also includes endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), enteral stenting of the esophagus/duodenum/rectum, and placement of both gastrostomy tubes (PEG tubes) and jejunostomy tubes (PEJ tubes).
Dr. Greaves has extensive knowledge in the management of various gastrointestinal diseases and complications that can arise from malignancy. In addition, he has experience in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic hepatitis and pancreatic/biliary disorders.
He has conducted research on a variety of gastrointestinal conditions including asymptomatic ileitis, pancreatic cysts and palliative drainage gastrostomies in patients with malignant bowel obstruction. Dr. Greaves has also published articles in several peer-reviewed publications including the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology (September 2006) and has presented at national conferences.
Dr. Greaves completed his fellowship training in gastroenterology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, one of the pre-eminent cancer centers in the U.S., and his residency in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Cornell University. He attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland and is an alumnus of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
