As a board-certified physician with extensive experience in endocrine disorders and diseases, Dr. Paliou is skilled in the diagnosis and management of a broad array of medical conditions, including hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), goiter, thyroid cancer, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and prolactinoma.

Dr. Paliou completed her medical degree at the Semmelweis University’s School of Medicine in Hungary and the University of Athens’ School of Health Sciences in Athens, Greece, followed by an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Newton Wellesley Hospital affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine, and a fellowship in endocrinology at Beth Israel Medical Center at the Albert Einstein University’s School of Medicine.

In addition to caring for patients at MEDEX Diagnostic & Treatment Center in Queens, Dr. Paliou serves as chief of endocrinology at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City and assistant professor of medicine at the New York Medical College.
