As a primary care physician, I consider it an honor to partner with my patients. I love to get to know them, hear their stories and make decisions together. I emphasize a healthy lifestyle, lots of exercise and staying as active as possible. I am very thorough and detail-oriented. I recommend prescription medications only when necessary. I recommend natural, non-hormonal contraception with fertility awareness methods. I do not prescribe hormonal birth control so my partners and my OB-GYN colleagues are available to prescribe hormonal contraception when needed or requested.

I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona. Before medical school, I studied philosophy and theology in college at the University of Notre Dame. I combined all these passions when I completed a fellowship in clinical medical ethics. I worked in the VA health care system for 10 years as a primary care physician and medical ethicist caring for our nation’s veterans and teaching Internal Medicine residents. I love to care for all my patients, and I have a particular interest in caring for military members, veterans and their families. My husband was active duty in the Air Force when we met, so we lived all over the country, but we are so happy to be settled in Colorado. We have two amazing children, and they accompany us on all of our adventures skiing, hiking, travelling and cheering on the Irish and the Rockies! I am delighted to join the outstanding team at UCHealth where we focus on the patients first!
