Bio

Dr. Lisa McIntire is an Ophthalmologist in the Austin area who specializes in Cataract, LASIK, and Cornea surgery. She has been living and practicing in Austin since 2011.

She has been recognized with numerous honors and awards throughout her years of education. She attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiotherapy and was a member of the Golden Key Honor Society.

Dr. McIntire then earned her Doctor of Medicine Degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where she received the Outstanding Senior Student Award in Ophthalmology. Dr. McIntire chose the field of ophthalmology because it allows her to interact with patients of all ages and from all walks of life, helping them achieve profound changes in their lives.

After receiving her Doctor of Medicine, Dr. McIntire completed a Transitional Internship at the University of Tennessee. She then traveled to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to participate in the Ophthalmology Residency at Wake Forest University Eye Center, where she was chief resident. Following residency, she was offered the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at the prestigious Tulane University in her home town New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. McIntire is a Board certified ophthalmologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her professional memberships include The Cornea Society and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Growing up on the gulf coast Dr McIntire spent her time fishing, water skiing, and scuba diving. She still loves to get on the water, but now also enjoys spending time with her family on land hiking, bike riding and playing sports. They also volunteer with a number of civic organizations in town such as the Capital Area Food Bank and Boy Scouts of America as well as their church and school.

For Dr. McIntire, the best thing about Austin are the patients who have trusted her with their vision. She states “My patients have blessed my life every bit as I have theirs. I’m grateful to be able to have a positive impact on peoples lives by helping to improve their vision.”
