I took my 92 year old mother to see Dr. Wagner because she was experiencing shoulder pain after a recent fall. After more than 1 1/2 hours of waiting, Dr. Wagner entered the room with no mention of the exorbitant wait time. He proceeded to ask my mother if her shoulder hurt, manipulated her arm, asking if the movement hurts and then blurted out, “Do you want a shot?” He did not explain what type of shot or why she might or might not want one. My mother said no and he replied that there was nothing he could do. At this point, there was no mention of the findings on the x-ray or any discussion of why her shoulder was painful. I questioned him further, during which time he appeared aggravated, We finally received his evaluation of the x-ray and his opinion of why her shoulder hurt. Before we left, I felt compelled to say how unsatisfied we were with this visit. Dr. Wagner’s response was, “Well perhaps if you don’t have to pay, you won’t have to worry about it”. My mother was reimbursed her copay, although I’m sure the insurance company was charged. In our experience, Dr. Wagner is arrogant, impatient and completely lacking in compassion as well as very unprofessional. The one good thing I can say about this visit is that the support staff were lovely - I think they should be nominated for sainthood!
