Bio
Dr. Ken Chiu's research endeavors have been focused on the identification of the factors that may affect the development of type 2 diabetes through genetic and epidemiological approaches.
In addition to his expertise in diabetes, he also provides general endocrinology service, including thyroid disorders and thyroid cancer, bone/osteoporosis, hirsutism/polycystic ovarian syndrome, pituitary and adrenal disorders.

Endocrinology
Endocrinologists are trained to treat patients for a variety of hormonal diseases and disorders, such as diabetes. Dr. Chiu can diagnose and create treatment plans for conditions like growth disorders, obesity, low testosterone, osteoporosis and various thyroid disorders, among others. Treatments provided by an endocrinologist may include medication management or hormone therapies.

Diabetology
Specializing in the treatment of diabetes, Dr. Chiu cares for patients suffering from all types and stages of the disease such as types I and II, or gestational diabetes. Diabetologists work closely with diabetic patients to formulate a personalized, comprehensive plan that includes a diabetes-friendly diet and exercise regimen, in addition to any prescription medications or treatment procedures that are deemed necessary.
