Karla de Beck, MD earned her BS from Davidson College and her MD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. de Beck's work history includes previously serving as Associate Director of the UNC Chapel Hill Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program, as an adjunct clinical Assistant Professor at UNC Chapel Hill and as an attending psychiatrist at Dorthea Dix Hospital. She is a member of the NCPA Psychiatry and Law Committee, the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and the American Psychiatric Association. She practices in our Chapel Hill, NC office where specializes in the treatment of mood and psychotic disorders and in civil and criminal forensic evaluations.
Dr. Karla de Beck is a psychiatrist, a primary care doctor for the mind. She provides care the psychological well-being of men and women, with an ability to diagnose and help manage all of the different types of mental illness. These might include things like depressive disorders, eating disorders, bipolar disorder or anxiety disorders, for example. Dr. de Beck may provide treatments covering anything from medication management plans to unique forms of therapy.
