Dr. Papantoniou is board-certified in dermatology and specializes in all areas of medical dermatology for adults and children, the prevention and treatment of skin cancer, cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery. She began her undergraduate education at NYU, where she completed a double major in Biology and Hellenic studies with honors. During her medical school training at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn she quickly developed a passion for Dermatology. Dr. Papantoniou has contributed to the History of Dermatology Society€â€Å_¢s annual conferences with presentations focusing on the history of dermatologic diseases, ancient skin practices, and therapeutics. The award for excellence in Dermatology was bestowed upon Dr. Papantoniou at the time of her graduation from medical school. She then completed a year of internal medicine at the North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital. Dr. Papantoniou completed her residency in Dermatology with the award for Outstanding Performance as a resident in Dermatology. During her training she learned how to treat patients from around the world with care and compassion. Her work has been published in peer reviewed journals, and has also presented at professional conferences. She maintains special interests in both medical and aesthetic dermatology. When she is not practicing Dermatology, Dr. Papantoniou is also a talented artist and enjoys painting and spending time with her family.
