As a doctor of osteopathy, Julie Gerth, DO, has an astute understanding of how your body's components connect and interact, and she feels it's her duty to treat the whole person, not just the sick parts. As a board-certified family medicine physician at the Apple Valley Medical Center in Apple Valley, Minnesota, she finds her work exhilarating because she never knows what types of cases she will face from day to day. She enjoys caring for and working with people of all ages and focuses on teaching the importance of wellness and prevention. Dr. Gerth completed her undergraduate degree at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. She went on to medical school at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa, and completed her residency at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio. Dr. Gerth is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, and American College of Family Physicians. She also serves on the Osteopathic Residency Advisory Committee. In her free time, Dr. Gerth is a small group leader for children at her church.
