Recommends Available On Time Friendly Professional Knowledgeable Nice Office Understandable Reachable Helpful StaffI met Dr. Wieland as he was called into the Emergency Dept. at 2:30am because I had severe pneumonia, a 103 degree fever and my appendix was rupturing. From the minute he walked in, he was warm and kind, totally competent, professional, and made an immediate surgical plan quickly and confidently and got everyone else on the same page and moving. He ran a central line, talked me through what was happening and had me anesthetized and on the operating table in under 20 minutes, likely saving my life. Even with a raging infection, he pulled me through and was completely supportive throughout my entire recovery, both during his daily hospital visits with me post-op, and in his office for all of my follow-up appts. I learned later that they were having extreme difficulty intubating me, due to the pneumonia, and a naturally narrow airway. The anesthesiologist said when he couldn't get me on his 3rd try, Dr. Wieland actually took over and was able to succeed. Can't say enough - great surgeon, great person, definitely choose him for any general surgery you're having in the Blo-No area.
