Dr. Jason P. Cohen received his bachelors degree from Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from SUNY-Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at NYU Medical Center and a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center. He is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at NYU School of Medicine, Director of the Head and Neck Institute at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, and Director of the Department of Otolaryngology at Vassar. He is a recipient of the Honor Award of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the Distinguished Service Citation from NYU. Dr. Cohen has been board certified since 1983 and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has an extensive list of publications in head and neck surgery, and has lectured both nationally and internationally on endocrine surgery of the neck. Dr. Cohen also holds a second degree black belt from the American Taekwondo Association.
Dr. Cohen specializes in head and neck surgery, including thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland surgery, and head and neck cancer surgery. He also sees patients with swallowing difficulties, voice problems, hearing loss, sinusitis, and general ear, nose, and throat disorders.
