Dr. Jae Kim graduated from UCSF School of Medicine in 2002 before completing a residency in General Surgery at University of California at San Francisco in San Francisco, CA from 2002 to 2009. He then completed a fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2009 to 2011.
Dr. Kim has one office in California where he specializes in Surgical Oncology and Thoracic Surgery.

Surgical Oncology
Surgical oncologists offer surgical treatment for patients suffering from a variety of cancers. The goal of a surgical oncologist is to stop the advancement of the disease through surgical intervention, sending the patient into remission. Thoracic Surgery
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called. Their focus is usually on the lungs, esophagus, and other areas of the chest, and may also include the heart. As such, Dr. Kim may see patients in California for a wide range of surgeries, for example removing cancer causing tumors from the esophagus and chest wall, or even a lung transplant.
