Dr. Jackson Cohen focuses on providing pain relief for his patients, while also helping patients enjoy improved function and higher overall quality of life.

Each patient receives an individualized treatment and management plan that is optimized to fit their unique needs.

Dr. Cohen practices with a holistic approach, utilizing physical therapy and other modalities, minimally invasive procedures, collaborative patient education, and positive lifestyle modifications to reach healthy, positive outcomes.
 

BACKGROUND - EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Cohen decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Biology.  Dr. Cohen then received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine graduating magna cum laude where he spent his first two years in Grenada, West Indies and his final two years in New York at Mount Sinai School of Medicine Elmhurst Hospital in Queens.

Dr. Cohen completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn before moving to Miami for his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. During his PM&R residency, Dr. Cohen was voted Chief Resident.

He then went on to complete a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine with the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital, recognized as one of the top fellowships in the country by the American Academy of Pain Medicine (program honored as the 2014 Recipient of the AAPM Pain Medicine Fellowship Excellence Award).

Dr. Cohen has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to presenting his work at national and international conferences.

He continues to participate in clinical research as part of his practice in order to advance the field of pain medicine and outcomes for all patients suffering from chronic and debilitating pain.
