BACKGROUND - EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Cohen decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Biology. Dr. Cohen then received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine graduating magna cum laude where he spent his first two years in Grenada, West Indies and his final two years in New York at Mount Sinai School of Medicine Elmhurst Hospital in Queens.
Dr. Cohen completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn before moving to Miami for his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. During his PM&R residency, Dr. Cohen was voted Chief Resident.
He then went on to complete a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine with the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital, recognized as one of the top fellowships in the country by the American Academy of Pain Medicine (program honored as the 2014 Recipient of the AAPM Pain Medicine Fellowship Excellence Award).
