Dr. Hubert H. Watty, MD is a Board Certified Family Practitioner. Originally from the Caribbean: born on the island of Dominica in the West Indies; grew up on the Island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands where I call home. This is where most of my family and friends are; and where I grew up from the age of 10. I received my formative education on St. Croix, was a member of the National High School Honor Society and graduated in the top 2% of my graduating class. I attended Florida Memorial College in Miami, Florida where I obtained my undergraduate education. Graduating magna cum laude while double majoring in Science and Mathematics; obtaining two bachelor's degrees in four years.
I subsequently attended Morehouse School of Medicine where I obtained my Medical Degree (Doctor of Medicine). Then there after I Completed my Family Practice Residency in Yonkers, New York while a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army. After completion of Residency in 2000, I went on to serve active duty with the military (U.S. Army). There I served several tours of duty including: Germany, Fort Riley Kansas, and Operation Iraqi Freedom "OIR" in 2003. I received several commendations and medals while on active duty.
After completing my service with the U.S. Army I did contract Locum Tenens work at several facilities. I then went into private practice where I was the Medical Director and owner of my medical practice for 10 years. I had the responsibility of training and supervising many health care professionals including but not limited to: nurses, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, medical assistants and others. My office provided care to the entire family of all ages. I have had the cherished opportunity of practicing medicine in many different arenas. I have seen and taken care of patients of all socioeconomic backgrounds and in many different geographic locations: those in cities, suburbs, and underserved areas. And I have been exposed to a vast array of health conditions and illnesses.
I am also a credentialed Laboratory Director who carried out that duty and responsibility at my office for ten yeras. I have sat for the Family Practice Specialty Board examination on three occasions since graduating from my residency more than 18 years ago and have been successful on all attempts. I am presently fully Licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. Virgin Islands where I intend to practice medicine at my health care cllinic and business: Agapé Wellness Center & Wound Care, LLC.
