Dr. Hal Danzer, co-founder and partner of the Southern California Reproductive Center, has devoted his career, a fusion of science and sensitivity, to helping countless patients fulfill their dreams of becoming parents. A highly regarded, innovative professional, he has distinguished himself in reproductive medicine and reproductive endocrinology, with proven expertise in women's health and fertility issues. 

Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Danzer serves on UCLA’s Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship Program, and is also Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the David Geffen School of Medicine. Among his hospital appointments, Dr. Danzer holds the positions of Reproductive Endocrinologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Attending Physician in its Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

A native of Montana, with a grandmother who served as a midwife in rural areas, Dr. Danzer came of age in the 1960s; he has proudly retained his sense of being of service to others, and his sense of the miracle and privilege of bringing a new life into the world.

After relocating to California as a youth, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco, where he developed an interest in endocrinology. He received his medical degree, cum laude, from the St. Louis University School of Medicine, where he was elected into the National Medical Honor Society AOA. After his internship at the University of Southern California Women’s Hospital Medical Center, he completed his residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and a two-year fellowship program in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the USC/Cedars-Sinai Medical Center program.

In 2000, along with Dr. Mark Surrey and Dr. David Hill, Dr. Danzer co-founded the Southern California Reproductive Center, envisioning and creating a fertility center that provides patients the highest quality in laboratory science and clinical care.

As one of the most respected reproductive endocrinologists in the Los Angeles area, Dr. Danzer focuses his practice on:

• In vitro fertilization of patients with previousIVF failure and complicated fertility issues
• The recommendation of low-dose inter-IVF stimulation and single embryo transfers
• Natural cycle and low-dose IVF cycles for patients with diminished ovarian reserve or elevated FSH levels
• Egg and embryo banking with low-dose stimulation

A longtime expert on women’s health issues, Dr. Danzer has co-authored books; Natural Family Planning and Premenstrual Syndrome. He has also written numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Fertility and Sterility and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. As a renowned fertility researcher, Dr. Danzer applies strategies that enhance a patient’s chances of having a successful pregnancy, reduce the potential for miscarriages, avoid the complications associated with multiple births and lower the risk of genetic disorders. He believes that for most in vitro fertilization (IVF) patients, single embryo transfers are optimal, and that these are best achieved by pairing expert skills with advanced technologies.

Parent Magazine named Dr. Danzer one of the Top 10 Fertility Specialists in the country, and his expertise has been featured in The New York Times, In Touch Magazine, Yahoo!, Huffington Post, SheKnows.com, Refinery29 and The Marilu Henner Show, among many others. He has functioned as an expert for numerous television shows and legal proceedings, as well as a valued consultant for the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Despite his illustrious career, he has never lost his personal touch, highly attuned and responsive to the anxiety and other psychological issues often associated with fertility issues. Dr. Danzer and his wife, Sheri, a prominent psychotherapist, reside in Brentwood, California, with their two grown children.
