Dr. Gregory Seymour attended Miami University in Ohio, graduating with a BA in Physical Chemistry. He decided to pursue oncology after he experienced what the effects of cancer can do to a family and attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX where he served an additional year as a Chief Resident. Dr. Seymour pursued his fellowship training in Oncology and Hematology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. During his last year, he was the Chief of Moonlighting, running staffing and working in the emergency room, as well as the Medical Intensive Care Unit.
As a hematologist / oncologist in Texas, Dr. Seymour is capable of diagnosing and treating patients with blood-related disorders, malignancies, or cancers. Dr. Seymour may treat a range of conditions ranging from the the common to the very rare and complex. As a result, Dr. Seymour may provide care as part of a multidisciplinary team, working in conjunction with other specialists to ensure the highest possible standard of care.
As an internist, Dr. Gregory Seymour specializes in the primary care of adults through diagnosis and treatment of a range of conditions affecting many organ systems. Dr. Seymour also can refer patients to specialists when medically needed. For example, patients having serious breathing problems may be referred to a pulmonologist for additional medical tests or therapies.
As an oncologist, Dr. Seymour is trained to diagnose and treat all types and forms of cancer. Dr. Seymour may employ a variety of diagnostic tests such as biopsies, imaging tests, endoscopic tests and laboratory tests. He may offer treatment techniques such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy to combat the spread of cancer. Dr. Seymour may also provide emotional and palliative care, ensuring patients experience the highest quality of life possible.
As a hematologist practicing in Tomball, Dr. Seymour is capable of diagnosing and treating patients suffering from all types of blood and blood-borne disorders. These may include conditions such as bleeding & clotting disorders, hematologic malignancies, enlarged lymph nodes or anemia.
