Dr. Dean graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in exercise physiology where he also played football from 1991- 1995. He attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif., earning a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree in 2001. He completed his residency at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, serving as chief resident in 2004. Dr. Dean practices both sports and family medicine. He is currently a team physician for the San Francisco Giants,Colorado Rockies, and Scottsdale Saguaro and Desert Mountain high schools. Dr. Dean is on staff at the University of Arizona Medical School Phoenix supporting their sports medicine teaching program. His clinical interests include sports medicine, athletic injuries, endurance athletes, sports team and event coverage, and musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnostics and injections. Dr. Dean is an avid endurance athlete and enjoys coaching his daughter’s softball team.
