Dr. David Harpole graduated from University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1984 before completing a residency in General Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC from 1984 to 1991. He then completed a fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center from 1991 to 1993.
Dr. Harpole has one office in North Carolina where he specializes in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.

Cardiothoracic surgery is a highly specialized field of medicine that incorporates surgical procedures to treat diseases or trauma to the organs and structures of the chest – including the heart, lungs and esophagus.
