Dr. Daniel Layish joined the Central Florida Pulmonary Group in 1997. He serves as co-director of the adult Cystic Fibrosis program in Orlando, and director of the Alpha-One Foundation Clinical Resource Center. He is Vice President of the Central Florida Pulmonary Group. His hospital practice is primarily at Winter Park Memorial Hospital. There are a total of 17 pulmonary physicians in the practice.
Critical care pulmonologists are trained in two closely-related areas of medicine: pulmonology & critical care. Dr. Layish treats patients suffering from life-threatening pulmonary disorders and diseases. These may include emphysema, pneumonia, lung cancer or COPD. As a critical care specialist, Dr. Layish is also trained to stabilize patients who are in critical condition and require mechanical ventilation.
Sleep medicine specialists diagnose and treat various disorders and diseases relating to sleep. This can include a range of conditions including insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, nightmares and others. Dr. Layish utilizes a variety of diagnostic tools including screening devices, overnight sleep studies or oximeters, among many others. Treatments can include CPAP therapy, implantation of sleep devices, counseling, lifestyle modifications, and others aimed at eliminating or alleviating the symptoms of sleep conditions.
