Dr. Daniel Kahn achieved board certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in 2000. A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), he is also a member of the Morris County Medical Society and the Medical Society of New Jersey. Dr. Kahn was born and raised in Rockaway Township, New Jersey, where he attended Morris Knolls High School. After graduating from Princeton University in 1993 with a major in Religion, concentrating on Philosophy of Religion and Systematic Ethics, he attended The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan on an Air Force scholarship, graduating in 1997. Dr. Kahn completed his pediatric internship and residency (1997-2000) in San Antonio, Texas, at Wilford Hall Medical Center, the largest U.S. Air Force hospital and referral center. He continued to serve the Air Force as a pediatrician at a NATO base in Italy until 2003. While in Italy, Dr Kahn was awarded the NATO medal and the US Air Force Commendation Medal. He completed his military career at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts before joining Parsippany Pediatrics in late 2004.
Since returning to Morris County, Dr. Kahn has been granted hospital privileges at Goryeb Children's Hospital at Morristown Memorial Hospital and at Saint Clare's Hospital in Denville, where he was born. Dr. Kahn has been selected to oversee the quality of care provided by these hospitals by participating in both the Goryeb Children's Hospital and St Clare's Pediatric Peer Review Committees.
Dr. Kahn’s many awards include the 2008-2009 Patient's Choice Award and New Jersey Family's 2009, 2011 and 2012 "NJ's Favorite Kids' Docs" award, recognition given "for providing outstanding and compassionate healthcare for children."
Dr. Kahn's professional areas of interest are numerous, but international and domestic adoption and infectious diseases (particularly treatment and prevention) are at the top of his list. Personally, he is excited to be practicing pediatrics in the area in which he was raised, and where his own parents still reside. He married his best friend and high school sweetheart in 1995 and has two energetic children. Prior to having children, Dr. Kahn greatly enjoyed the sport of fencing, in which he competed nationally and internationally. Since becoming a father, he has re-prioritized and now exercises by running and biking, but mostly by chasing his kids.
