Dr. Clifford Sewell of Discover Health, located in San Francisco’s North Beach, is an internal medicine physician who has been practicing in the Bay Area for nearly 20 years. His mission is to prevent or detect at the earliest stages major illnesses such as heart disease and cancer. His philosophy is to screen early and leave no stone unturned. He has great pride in the trusted bonds and strong relationships he has formed with patients and their families.   Dr. Sewell graduated from Duke University in 1988 with a B.S.E. electrical engineering and then went on to Georgetown University in 1989, completing his M.S. in physiology. After medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1994, he migrated west, joining the Internal Medicine internship and residency program at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco. Dr. Sewell loved the Bay Area and chose to stay in practice there. He was recruited to serve as medical director of Samaritan House Medical Clinic, a free clinic for underserved patients in San Mateo. When he’s not at the offices of Discover Health, he volunteers in the community and enjoys time with family, water sports, skiing, and camping.
