Claudia Espino, MD, works with the Capital Women’s Care offices in Arlington and McLean, Virginia. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, before moving back to the East Coast to study at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. At UCLA, she completed competitive degrees in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics. She underwent her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Presence St. Joseph Hospital and was chief resident there. During her residency, she won numerous awards, including Teaching Resident of the Year, Excellence in Leadership, the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Award, and the Resident Award for Excellence in Obstetrics. While studying, Dr. Espino was able to travel to Argentina and provide women’s health to local residents. Today, she is pleased to be a member of the Capital Women’s Care medical staff and dedicates her time to providing patients with personalized and comprehensive OB/GYN services. She specializes in family planning and preventive health care along with minimally invasive gynecological surgeries. When not working, Dr. Espino enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She's also fluent in both English and Spanish.
